Workshop Topic Descriptions
We have just opened the registration portal for the 2018 Winter Workshop and it’s time to share more about
just SOME of the programs that are in store:
We recently held a webinar on thetopic of accident reporting. The response was significant and many have asked us to bring it back in w orkshop form to allow for more discussion and questions. We are listening and doing that!
NYAPT has completed a training workshopwith the support of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee on the issue of drowsy driving. We want you to see that workshop and become familiar with how you might use it in your operations.Thinking you will find it instructive and useful!
Opioid Issues and Answers
We have struck a new working partnership with the State’s Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services (OASAS) to bring training, education, and best practices to our members and even some drivers on issues related to addiction and particularly opioid addiction issues. OASAS has a new program on NARCAN training and we are looking to present information on NARCAN and its uses and training needs.
Non-Allowable Pupil Decimal: Asked & Answered
How often have we heard a call for someone to explain the Non-Allowable Pupil Decimal calculation in clear and concise
and consistent terms? Yeah, that many times! We will hear from the State Aid Policy group at Questar BOCES on this critical
state aid topic that affects your levels of Transportation Aid.
Workplace Harassment: Timely Issue
The news is replete with stories about accusations or confessions about sexual harassment and abuse in a variety of workplaces. The school transportation facility is not immune to or exempt from such incidents and situations and it is vital that we be aware of what harassment is, how to create a work environment that is positive and free of such activities, and how to address it when it occurs. And there are more to come!! Be sure to register at http://www.nyapt.org/event-2734789
