SED School Bus Driver Instructor Course (SBDI)
This course is offered for transportation professionals who wish to enhance their career by becoming a New York State Education Department (NYSED) certified School Bus Driver Instructor (SBDI). This course is instructed by NYSED Master Instructors. Successful completion of this course allows the candidate to become an SBDI, upon approval by SED.
Prerequisites for the Course are as follows:
· Candidates must be employed by a school district, BOCES, non-public school or private contractor providing services to a public school, non-public school or BOCES
· Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent
· Candidates must have completed the Basic Course of Instruction for school bus drivers
· Candidates must have completed the Advanced Course of instruction for school bus drivers OR a DMV approved point/insurance reduction program

Master Instructors: Nicole Dolce
Nicole Dolce - Supervisor of Transportation for the Herrick School District.
Nicole Dolce started in the Pupil Transportation industry in 2007 as a school bus attendant. Nicole became an SDBI in 2010 and a 19A examiner in 2011. Nicole is from the Master Instructor class of 2018 and worked on the Driver's Basic Course rewrite. Nicole has previously participated in and placed in National and NYS Special Needs Road-eos. Nicole currently serves as a member of the SBDI/MI Advisory Committee.
NOTE: This course and attainment of SBDI credentials counts towards the NYAPT Certification Program.
