NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Restraint System Training

The New York Association for Pupil Transportation,  in partnership with the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, will be conducting National Highway Traffic Safety Association Approved Child Passenger Safety  Restraint Systems on School Buses Training as a Pre-Conference offering.  This one day training is designed to be a comprehensive guide for those who wish to address the issues of transporting the pre-school population safely on school buses. The training will examine characteristics of the pre-school age population and explore occupant protection systems used in school buses to transport infant and preschool-aged children and is appropriate for Pupil Transportation Administrators and Supervisors, school bus drivers, and school bus monitors. You will gain experience in using proper securement techniques, identifying equipment maintenance, disposal, and storage issues. During this training you will be actively installing child safety restraint systems on demonstration seats and in a school bus. Please dress comfortably. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
